At any given time, there are over 100 Peace Corps volunteers in countries throughout the world raising money to implement a project in their local communities that will last well after their years of service. These projects can vary from a new town playground, workshop on HIV/AIDS education or new textbooks for a classroom. Twenty five percent of these grants are funded by the PCV’s local community, yet the PCV is responsible for raising seventy five percent from their personal connections and networks in the USA.
If you feel like making an impact on the lives of those abroad and PCVs, I encourage you to browse the current list of Peace Corps Volunteer Project Grants. Remember, a dollar goes a long way in many of these countries, so any small amount will help tremendously.
Currently, Ukraine is the largest Peace Corps post in the world with over 500 volunteers. We also fund the largest number of grants, most commonly for English immersion summer camps, classroom resources and personal development seminars.
